Ibrahim AlBaker, Doha-based visual artist and creative director, was selected as the Qatari voice in Lacoste’s global Ramadan campaign “Do You Speak Lacoste?”. Known for blending Renaissance influences with Qatari heritage.

Challenges

For me, the biggest challenge was making sure my artistic language does not get lost within the framework of a global fashion brand. Lacoste has its own strong identity, but I wanted my contribution to feel rooted in Qatari culture and in my own creative process, not just become a backdrop.

Another challenge was translating something as intimate as Ramadan values into visuals that could speak universally, without falling into clichés.

Solutions

The solution was to lean into my art itself – paintings, heritage references, and storytelling through my practice – and let that naturally merge with Lacoste’s vision. By being authentic to who I am as an artist, the collaboration found its balance. It became less about compromise and more about creating a shared language between my world and theirs
